Rumi by Anandmurti Gurumaa
Rumi by Anandmurti Gurumaa
Not confined to any religious, cultural and territorial boundaries is a man filled with completeness. And the one who is complete cannot be captured in words as words lose their meaning to the meaningfulness of the persona in discussion. Such is the stature of Hazrat Jalaudin Rumi, a mystic, an enlightened master, a lover, a poet and an Islamic scholar par excellence. Born in 1207 A.D. on the eastern coast of Persia, in the city of Balkh in Afghanistan, Rumi finally settled in the town of Konya, Turkey. To hear Rumi's life story is to be in the arms of a fairy tale. A sober scholar by heart, he once met Shams, a wandering Sufi. The meeting was not the ordinary one, which Rumi experienced with many; it was the moment of complete transformation of Rumi himself. The effect of Shams on him was so profound that Rumi took no time to be turned into a Sufi overnight. This ultimate bond of love further blossomed with the passage of time and delivered Rumi, the highest spiritual experiences. In these ecstatic moments Rumi wrote remarkable poetries, which are stored in Diwan-e-Shams and Mathnawi. Each verse kisses ones soul with tenderness transporting the individual to the altitudes of spiritualism.
The album, Rumi, showcases these magical verses translated in Hindi, backed with soulful music, for the first time ever by Anandmurti Gurumaa, an enlightened mystic. The album is a wonderful gift to all the Rumi lovers. It has four music tracks with poetry and is synonymous to the four moods of the divine lover. The initiation of the album introduces Ney, the Sufi's flute. Four different colours of emotions have been expressed with equal amount of depth in music as well to make this album laudable among the literary connoisseurs of our age. Its haunting melodious fervour takes the listener to Konya, Rumi's home and a place where both Rumi and Shams lived in Allah's love and ecstasy.
