Chalisa Darshan SRCD 105
GBP7.99
Chalisa Darshan Featured in this CD are a garland of the most famous and popular "Chalisas" of modern times: the Gayatri Chalisa, Hanuman Chalisa, Ram Chalisa, Krishna Chalisa and Shiv Chalisa, accompanied by their appropriate "Aartis". "Chalisa" means forty and all are composed of forty verses. Each is dedicated to a specific deity and when chanted with feeling and devotion, it leads to the spiritual upliftment of the devotee and consequently, to the betterment of society. In times of trouble, Hanuman stands for stability and equilibrium, complete self-control and a symbol of victory over evil. Legend has it that Sant Tulsidas composed the Hanuman Chalisa when he was very ill and on its completion, regained his health. Thus, it is believed that the chanting of Hanuman Chalisa is a very powerful prayer in overcoming ill health. Similarly, various Chalisas rendered in this CD will be beneficial to all. Each has its own unique set of qualities that will help sustain happiness and overcome despair. In today's world of stress-induced illnesses, these prayers are all the more relevant for a healthy and peaceful abode within. Chanting of these Chalisas with faith and devotion will bring fulfilment of wishes, joy and happiness in your lives. Significance of Aarti Aarti is performed at the end of all ritualistic worship accompanied by the ringing of bells. The lighted lamp is held in the right hand and is waved in a clockwise circling motion that illuminates the deity while the prayers are being recited. The significance of this lies in the fact that our minds become focused when we see the illumined form of the Lord in all his beauty. Many devotees close their eyes while performing the Aarti. This signifies the purpose of our life to find the Lord within and to become one with Him. Therefore, each one of us is a temple of the Lord - we hold the Divinity within. Camphor (Kapur) represents our desires and it is burnt at the end of aarti. Camphor, when it burns - leaves no residue. Just as it is lit with the fire of knowledge (aarti) - we want the Lord to burn our desires and leave not a trace of Ego.
