Vilayat Khan - Al Wida

It is almost a year since the world of Indian classical music learnt of the demise of one of its greatest exponents, Ustad Vilayat Khan (1928 - 2004): a towering personality whose impact far transcended sitar playing and even instrumental music. "Al Wida" - Farewell, recorded at LSO St. Lukes, London on 2nd November 2003, is a tribute album to mark the first anniversary of his passing away. This was his last concert outside India and in fact, his second last concert!

In this 2 CD album, he performs Raga Lalit, Bhairavi and a couple of Bandishes. Shivshankar Ray accompanies him on the Tabla.
