Amaan Ali Bangash - Veneration

A tribute to his grandfather, Ustad Haafiz Ali Khan

A young talent of the 7th generation in an unbroken chain of Senia Bangash Gharana, Amaan Ali Bangash is the elder son of the Sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan and grandson of Haafiz Ali Khan. Initiated into the fine art of Sarod playing at a very tender age, Amaan began his public performances as early as eight. He has already performed the world over and is set to continue the proud tradition of the Senia Bangash School. On this disc, he performs Raga Malkauns, recorded at Kalamandir, Kolkata, India on February 8th 2003. Shubhankar Banerjee accompanies him on the Tabla.
