The hymns are chosen from Vedic and Post-Vedic scriptures. The Bhajans are selected from both ancient and contemporary Hindi and Gujarati literature.
This special edition is printed in four languages - Sanskrit, Hindi, Gujarati and English.
The English transliteration is provided with diacritical marks and syllabic divisions to assist in the correct pronunciation of each language.
The English version is a free translation, which seeks to express the spirit and essence of the original.
The format is based on the Pothi - a long, loose-leafed book form prevalent in ancient India - and allows for convenient cross-reference.
Supplementing the book is a set of two CDs - BHAKTI SAGAR Volume 1 & 2 - (available separately) composed and sung by Ashit and Hema Desai.
The book has been edited, translated and transliterated by the eminent linguist and Sanskrit scholar, Dr. Jagdish Dave.
