"Taaleem: From Father To Son - Tabla Of Panjab Gharana". Percussion: Ustad Allarakha & Fazal Qureshi with Ustad Sultan Khan. Taaleem is an urdu word which means training. Under this broad term come various processes of training fron simple imitation to spontaneous improvisation of what the Guru imparts, depending on the stage of learning and the level of musical maturity of the desciple. Here, Taaleem is being imparted by Ustad Allarakha to his son Fazal in the tradition of Panjab Gharana. The maestro recites various compositions which Fazal repeats on the Tabla and then improvises spontaneously using his own creativity. All this, of course has a very creative and melodious accompaniment on Sarangi by Ustad Sultan Khan which enhances the richness of the album.
